This is an evaluation for my college magazine I will be talking about the likes and dislikes, the layout the use of font size and why and also how I would be able to improve this magazine.

what I like and dislike about my college magazine?

The thing that I like about this magazine cover and content page is the fact that the colour layout is pink and the text font is in blue I choose pink because it is bright and attractive and also because its a feminine colour I used blue fonts because its a masculine colour so it to say that the magazine is both genders and targeted at them, and the image used is to portray a good image about the college and its surrounding and the use of students shows its target audience are for students, teachers, and parents.
    I dislike this college magazine because it dosent look well structured and original it looks plain and not well formatted, it also looks boring the content page has same picture as the cover page.
  The type of fonts used and why?
I used 2-3 different kind of fonts I made sure the mast head was the biggest font because it is meant to stand out and be bold I used quite bold but small fonts for my sub stories so the audience notice them, for my contents page I used single small fonts and also I numbered the sub stories so the audience know what page to refer to in order to read the story that intreast the.
 How I could improve on my college magazine.
I could improve my college magazine by using well detailed and structured layout to make it look original.

Research and planning: font activity

This is a font activity carried out in lesson teaching us how to associate words with fonts I will now explain how I have created this different fonts and how they associate with the words. first I opened a file in photo shop  then I typed in the three different fonts above then highlighted them one after the other first it was the death metal I highlighted it and selected a font that looked creepy and scary as the name suggested then pop world I used finger prints font because it looked fun and round just as the name indicated. lastly it was  pop corn I used big blocks letters because it big clear and looks like its gonna pop out then I used different colors to make it look fun scary and bold.

Here are some of the audience research we did asking students about what they would prefer for the college magazine. Here are the some of the questions we got so far from the college students, we got the students to answer at least five questions for the college magazine.

What would you associate with college?
Education, meeting people, learning to interact and communicate with people and other social stuff.

What stories do you want to read?
 - college sport stories

- updates

-pass rates and current performances and activites
-schools achievements.

How much are you willing to pay for it?
some student have said they would prefer if it was free because its for the school and should be in the library, others are willing to pay above £1.00 but not more than £2.50.

what top tips would you give to A level students on how to succeed in college?

study well, work hard, good revision, have prompt attendance so as not to miss out in class.

What did you think of percentages of pass rates through out the past years?
they said the results have been good and decent so far and that they were impressed with the college results.

In this task I had to analysis a college magazine and talk about the details on the magazine and what has been done on the magazine and its importance to the magazine.
  This magazine has a masthead which is the header in the magazine and its written boldly so it visiable and easily spotted like the one at the top of the page in blue text.
It should have a slug line which is written in  small text at the bottom of the masthead.
  It should have stories headlines  on the page  like those around the page in pink blue and white writings.
 The issue number at the bottom or top of the page this is at the bottom on the right in lack text.
The date to show when the magazine was produced.
  The main picture which should be that of a student like the one above and she is holding a book which shows that it a place of study and learning.
finally the bar code/price to show the price.

In this task I have to do a film poster review and I have choosen friday the 13th which is a horror film and I have made into a film review using a magazine page on indesign, the steps I followed are as follows,

Firstly I had to open indesing and then click on file to open a folder then I selected a magazine page then I needed to creat margines to help me keep the work in order and in place then I opened a word document and went on the internet to get a short storyline of the film then I copied and pasted on the word document then I saved it in my document as a jpg and then pasted it on indesing page. secondly I copied the picture and used the same techinique and also pasted it on the indesint then I clicked the T at the left side of the page and inserted it at the top of the page to use text box to write the title. finally I had to click on the box at the left to select background colour and change it that how I created this review on indesing.

Research and Planning: Photoshop Challenge

In this task know as the photo shop challenge I will be working on an A4 document to write text as As media studies  in century Gothic and a size font of 24, then I will need to change the colour of the text to red and put it in the middle of the page then I need to change the background colour of the page to blue and then highlight the text to give it a drop shadow. then I need to place a picture of a person from the internet  under the text then change the hair colour  and draw a border of any any colour or shape around the picture I will now describe how I have succeeded in carrying out this task.
  first I started by going on the search bar to get photo shop up then I went on file clicked select and then new file to get an A4 file. secondly I clicked on the T at the right hand side of the page to produce text and then select the required settings for the text. thirdly I highlighted the text clicked on the colour box at the top of the page to change text colour then use the mouse to move it to the middle of the page. next I had to change the background colour so I clicked on the paint bucket tool choose colour and click on background. then i had to highlight the text and click on layer and then layer style to drop the shadow.on the writting. next I had to take a picture of a person off the internet so I used true jackson and put her picture under the text and then I clicked on the paint brush so as to use it to change her hair colout so I changed it from black to redish brown.and then finally I put a frame around the picture.

Research and plannning: skin tutorial

This is the picture of a girl I have given a makeover using photo shop, the steps I have used in given her this makeover are as follows : first I had to use the spot cleaner to cover the spot on her face therefore giving her a smooth looking skin, then I had to use blur to make her face more shinny, then I started the makeover I gave her a colored  eyeshadow   a bit bright  so as to bring out her face more and blend in with the background. then I used a brush to add some blush on her cheeks but made them brow and less visible so it can blend in with her skin tone, then I added a bit of eyeliner to make her eyes stand out  and her lashes darker an ticker and that how I gave her a makeover using photo shop.

Research and Planning: Introduction to Photoshop

I have worked on this piece of item using photo shop, I have had to work on the music CD above and I have used various materials and techniques I find this particular piece very interesting and new as it my first time of using photo shop. Below I will now explain how I have been able to create this CD using photo shop.
first I had to open photo shop on my computer and get 3 different images{ the CD, music background and the other music instrument}  unto photo shop  then I used the cut and move tool to cut round the object and used the move tool to move them unto the music paper then i clicked on images to be able to use colors and add other things to make it look different and in my style.
